Cheerful colours, abstract forms, geometric patterns, unique colour
constellations: that is the world of Alexander Girard. Active as an
architect and designer, Girard was one of the leading figures in American
design during the postwar era. His passion for colours, textures and
graphic patterns found expression in the field of textile design, which was
a focal part of his oeuvre. Vitra’s collection of accessories is now being
